PRESCHOOL care is for children 2 years, 9 months through their kindergarten year of school.  Full and half days are available, as are part weeks.

Preschool is a time of discovery and incredible learning.  At Small Wonders your child will have the opportunity to experience many different things on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.  Preschool classes go on field trips during the summer months to enhance their learning experience based on the curriculum theme.  Children feel safe and respected in our center and are eager and willing to learn.

Preschool Daily Schedule 

 

7:00-8:30       Arrival and independent child-directed activities 

8:30-10:15      Discovery Centers open (sand/water, art, snack, writing

                      center, “real life” area, blocks, etc)   Free choice 

10:15-10:30    Group time  (prepare for outdoor activities,  toileting) 

10:30-11:30    Outdoor activities  or Music and Movement 

11:30-12:10     Prepare for, eat and cleanup lunch (toileting,

                      handwashing)

12:10-12:30    Quiet activities (story, books, puzzles, toileting, prepare

                      for rest)

12:30-2:15     Rest

2:15-3:15       Wake and Snack (manipulatives, books, toileting) 

3:15-5:30       Outdoor Play with Theme Related Activities

                      Indoor Discovery time if inclement weather 

5:30-6:00       Prepare for departure (wash faces and hands, toileting,

                      manipulatives, books, games, group activity)     

6:00               Center closes
